A unique original work on paper from the ‘Vardo’ series.

'Vardo' means 'gypsy caravan' in Romani - and refers to the specific green of the caravan. The series plays with and celebrates how fashion can transport us to another time, place, space - be it the glint of a piece of costume jewellery, the texture of a silk shirt or the luxury of a ruffled dress. The colour palette is introspective - as if seen behind curtains, behind closed doors - each figure sitting or contemplative. A love letter to the power of fashion even when no one can see.

The 'Vardo' series is a personal response as a fashion illustrator to isolation and the lockdown.
