BLEUR GALLERY [INSERT FEELING HERE] Exhibition
Step into the art world like never before. For two nights only. Register for your FREE ticket now.
Hidden away in the iconic Old Biscuit Factory, dive into the creative minds of 11 artists to experience art like never before. For the art lovers and the ones who thought art wasn’t their thing.
[INSERT FEELING HERE] is an artist reflection on chasing our own emotions, brought to you by BLEUR. You’ll be thrown into the highs and the lows and making space for everything in between.
The highs and lows are what we remember. The in between is where we spend most of our time, being “OK”. What does it mean to be “OK”? Is “OK” what we are all aiming for? Holding on. Surviving. Avoiding the question. But how are we really feeling?
Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone, take risks and be surprised. And here you thought art could only be looked at on a wall.
BYOB. We got ice, glasses and freebies.
Everyone welcome, FREE entry. Registration essential.
Over 18 only. Doors close at 21.30.

How to find us
We are tucked away in the Old Biscuit Factory, a historical site which was once the heart of Bermondsey.
The entrance to the Biscuit Factory is at the junction between Webster Road and Clements Road. Search for the sadly permanently closed Shortwave cafe on Google maps, the entrance to our building is the opposite side of the parking lot. Go through the gated entrance as if you were local and look for the white double doors with a staircase at the end of the parking lot.
We are very sorry but there is no accessible access at present. If you would like to attend, please get in touch with us.
Editorial Masterclass at the House of Illustration
Get the inside scoop on the world of editorial illustration in our September masterclass with Joanna Layla.
You’ll get hands-on experience of responding to a brief while developing an understanding of the often fast-paced field of editorial illustration.
Joanna will guide you step-by-step through the editorial process through a series of drawing exercises. From drafting layouts and choosing compositions and colour palettes to working with art directors, you’ll learn the techniques and tools needed to achieve striking editorial images.
The structured session will use case studies and examples from Joanna’s own body of editorial work to give a fun, inspiring and experiential taste of editorial illustration.
Materials will be provided but students are also welcome to bring any favourite materials and a sketchbook.
Interactive Watercolour Workshop for all the family
Celebrate summer and the sea at this interactive watercolour workshop for 5-12 year olds inspired by Marie Neurath: Picturing Science.
Explore the wonders of the watery medium of watercolour to create seaside shapes, textures and creatures. Participants will then transform their sea-inspired artworks into coral reef headdresses to take home.
We’ll consider the importance of looking after our amazing oceans and coral reefs while getting stuck in to a series of fun, hands-on activities.
Your ticket to the workshop includes entry to our current exhibitions: Posy Simmonds: A Retrospective, Marie Neurath: Picturing Science and Quentin Blake: From the Studio.
Materials are provided.
Cluster "Unison"
UNIT 5 GALLERY (map)
Derived from Greek routes, Uni Son, simply means One Voice. To speak, sing, shout, scream, or act to one concerted affect. Beyond the binding of individuals it intends purpose and proactivity. Cause and effect, action and result. It’s no small coincidence that UNISION announces the opening of the Cluster Art Fair’s new programme of exhibitions, uniting artists under common banners. Making militant the collective energies of artists and artworks.
Building upon the success of the Cluster Illustration Fair, which saw 800 people attend the opening and a further 1500 across the following 4 days, the UNISION programme will work with artists who’ve previously exhibited with Cluster, providing new opportunities and contexts for them to more closely collaborate. The first exhibition will run from the 1st - 11th August at Unit 5 Gallery between Hoxton and Cambridge Heath overground stations, bringing an intensive mix of art to one of the more reactive areas of East London.
The curatorial programme will continue with further exhibitions throughout the year, working on a strictly no-entry fee basis and an ethos of bringing together creatives to generate new united voices.
